Remember those little surprises? The ones I said were harder to come by as we get older? Well, today one dropped in on me. Rob and I spent the day taking the littles around Atlanta. Hustling them in and out of the car. Then back home to watch a movie and off to bed.
Then I got a text.
It was a mom from my daughter’s school. A new friend of mine that I don’t see enough because we are both busy with life and kids. She had ordered a book from my bookshop. But she also gave me some encouragement.
It meant so much to
me. I spend the day tending to kids and trying to write and edit and curate the online shop. And I’m also looking for work. Which is soul crushing.
So to be sent this little shining moment of joy as we were crawling into bed at night was wonderful.
So if you’re reading this. Send that friend you don’t see enough, a text telling them that you see them. Tell them you know how hard they are working and cheer them on. Spread some joy.
